Retreat and Qualifying Wrap Up

Author: admin | Filed under: Article

This year the retreat started with the 54 hole challenge and ended with 54 more holes of. It was a lot of golf in spurts over a five day stretch. After it was all said and done Nick won the qualifier for the Ping Golfweek Invitational at even par. The tournament begins on Sunday at Gold Mountain Golf Course in Bremerton.
We will be taking a new line up to the event because after the six rounds freshman Chris Williams finished at four over par and in second place. However he is not the only new face…

Freshman Charlie Hughes finished the 108 hole qualifier in fourth at 11 over par. Two strokes in front of Charlie in third place was Senior Richard Lee.
Darren Wallace made a great comeback. He was six under par over his final 36 holes at Gold Mountain to tie with Charlie at 11 over for the qualifier and round out our top five for the event.

The final results after 108 holes of golf on two very difficult golf courses were.

1-Nick Taylor E
2-Chris Williams +4
3-Richard Lee +9
T4-Darren Wallace +11
T4-Charlie Hughes +11
6-Larry Iverson +13
7-Jens Bracht +18
8-Chris Killmer +23
The team of Kevin Spooner and Nick Taylor was no question the dominate force in Cornhole.
During the retreat we held two major tournaments and they won both of them. We had a great time on the retreat, it was especially fun to go to the Husky victory over USC on Saturday. We got to storm the field and celebrate. A special thanks to Scott Alexander and Gold Mountain Golf Course for allowing us to have an unforgettable week of golf and games.
