Keep an eye on Alex Prugh at the Farmers Insurance Open. He shot 65 yesterday and was tied for 2nd after one round. You can follow results at the PGA Tour Website.
This weekend the team leaves for the Big Island for the first event of the Spring Season. It shapes up to be quite a Spring for the boys. We have the 9th toughest Spring schedule so every week we play against the best. Click here for the UW Men’s Golf official schedule.
Our schedule will take us from shores of the Big Island, down to L.A. for a couple trips, into Eugene and down to Bandon, then all the way back to Augusta where we will also catch a Masters Practice Round. We wrap up in Northern California at Pasatiempo and at the Pac-10 Championships at Stanford, site of the 1963 Pac-10 Championship for the Huskies.
The weather has been great the past couple of weeks and we have been able to play and practice every day. Our courses have been in excellent shape. Special thanks to Matt Schuldt at Seattle Golf Club for rolling the greens for our qualifyings and for Trevor Broersma at WNGC for getting the practice facility slicked up for us too. It has been great to have summer conditions in January.
Nick Taylor is spending some winter time at Mauna Lani and we look forward to hanging out with him next week. Big thanks to Mauna Lani for your great support of a Husky.
Our boys are all fired up about Husky Basketball and Husky Football recruiting. Wish we could be around for the Football Signing Day. Should be quite a celebration. Aloha!
