More Than Golf

Just when you think you’re on top, golf humbles you.  We approached The Gifford Collegiate confident, with a chance to put together an amazing fall for Husky Golf.  But we were humbled.  We made small errors that cost us shots and often times compounded mistakes, Cordevalle can do this. Even our ‘invincibles’  Pan and Willy struggled on the greens. Don’t get me wrong, 4th by Willy and tied 10th for Pan are great individual finishes and a 5th place finish for the team in a tough national field is nothing to be ashamed of, it just wasn’t our best.

Pan narrowly misses a birdie put on #1 an unfortunate trend for him at Cordevalle.

But the team was their fun-loving selves during the week.  We had a great time during the practice round,  Pan and Mac continued their “loving relationship” and Charlie even had time to sprint to the top of a small mountain in a world record time of 2:38.

Pan and Mac, aren't they cute?

After an early round on Tuesday, we tried to drown our sorrows in Monterey Bay. A short 45 minute drive and we were on the beach in Santa Cruz.  Enough said!

So in the end, a tough week of golf didn’t define us.  We continued to be ourselves and although we didn’t finish off the Fall Season as we would have liked we enjoyed our time at beautiful Cordevalle and now look toward the Spring season hungrier than ever.
